Holmes doubtful in week 3

Bump.

This is the biggest news in fantasy football today by far. How did this thread go so long w/o a response?

I just wanted to add the fact that Vermeil publicly called out Johnson in a press conference. Said something along the line of "it's time for him to take off the diapers." Needless to say, Johnson was pissed when he heard about it.

I can't help but think that Vermeil--who hardly ever does stuff like that--wants Johnson to come out on Sunday and show him something. I expect to see Blaylock and Johnson share the carries.

Sept. 22, 2004 - 10:46 a.m.
The Kansas City Star reports Holmes suffered a strain of his knee on the same play that he sprained his ankle. The ankle is the more serious injury right now, and Holmes received treatment on it Tuesday. Coach Dick Vermeil said the team will prepare as if Holmes will be able to play, but Derrick Blaylock will need to be ready in case Holmes is inactive.

PLEASE PLAY PRIEST................

My take, for whatever little it's worth.

Vermeil and KC are being very very quiet. That either means there's nothing wrong and the media is blowing up rumors.... or this guy is hurt and they don't want Houston to know until Sunday.

So far I've heard radio stations in KC reported that he is "doubtful" for Week 3 and possibly "questionable" for Week 4, and KC newspaper saying he is "probable" for Week 3 and that the injury is really nothing serious at all.

But this scares me: He didn't play the final 8 minutes in a winnable (MUST WIN) game. They were down (IIRC) 28-17 with 4:00 left and in the red zone. No Priest. The team is 0-2 now and we all know that *usually* means no playoffs.

I think we're looking at some missed time for Priest.

Not sure if this has been posted.

Priest Holmes, RB KC

News: According to the Kansas City Star, Chiefs running back Priest Holmes (ankle) was unable to practice on Wednesday and is unlikely to play in Week 3 against the Houston Texans.

Analysis: Not good news. Looks like Derrick Blaylock will start in his place unless the outlook gets better for Priest's ankle.

Scary.

We're getting to that time of the year where everyone says someone isn't going to start, then you put someone else in your lineup, and on gameday, they all the sudden start the person who wasn't supposed to start. Thats one of the hardest things to predict in fantasy football. And I have been burnt by it many times. :*)
