Is this another Anthony Thomas to Miami or Dallas or wherever talk, or is this deal for real? Fan ball states:
The Bergen Record is reporting that the Raiders have made another trade offer to the Jets to acquire backup running back LaMont Jordan. According to the report, Oakland has offered a third-round pick, but New York is demanding a second-rounder. The two teams discussed a trade involving Jordan around the time of the NFL draft in April.
Jordan would be stud in the Raider offense, but he is needed on the Jets roster just in case the old man goes down. What is the truth here??
The Jets are looking good. I can't imagine they would give up Jordan for a third rounder when they have a chance to do some damage this season. Hopefully the Raiders give the second pick, because I could use the help at RB.
I think it would be in the Jets best interest to deal off Lamont. He may be more trouble than he's worth, considering he really isn't a key component of the team and not part of their future either. Also, if I remember correctly he once made a sarcastic comment about not starting, and he seemed unhappy. IMO, C Mart can still get it done and dealing Jordan would only help them.
Trust me guys dont go grabbing Jordan. This is not going to happen. The Jets will not part with him for anything less than a 2nd rounder adn there's no way any team would pay that for Jordan right now.
I do not know about that. The Raiders seem desperate to find a runningback. They do seem happy with any of their options. I think that they just may offer the 2nd in hopes to trade off Wheatly to someone else.

As a frustrated Deuce McAllister owner with few other options... Hell, I'd consider picking up Pee Wee Herman if I heard he may be picked up by someone where he could be a starting RB. For a bottom of the lineup free agent pickup, it wouldn't hurt many teams to pick him up and then wait and see -- if he doesn't pan out, you can always drop him for someone else later.
