Kerry Colbert vs. Rod Gardner

Postby Addicted to FF » Wed Sep 22, 2004 1:12 pm

I just recently aquired these two guys in trades and I need one of them to step up as my 3rd receiver. What are your thoughts on who that might be. I know Gardner went for over 1000 yds. a couple of years ago. Is there any other reason besides the arrival of Coles for his dropoff and is he possibly back? A lot of people seem to be excited about Colbert. Is he the real deal?

Go with gardner.. being the huge skins fan that I am.. I know

listen P.Ramsey is getting the start this week.. his favorite WR is gardner, Gardner was actually close to coles last year stat wise until ramsey got hurt and hasslebeck cam in.

against the cowboys gardner should get a td

he almost had one last week, but dropped it( from ramsey)

I am starting him this week over P.Warwick

as dillion is on a bye week
QB: B.leftwhich, C.Palmer, brunell
RB: A.Green, C. Dillion, droughons, M.moore, Q. Griffin, bell
WR: C.Johnson, D.Jackson, A.toomer, B.Llyod
TE: wiggins, B.Franks, L.J. Smith
K: Kristie
Def: Redskins, bills

I guess I need to clarify. I don't have to decide between the two this week because Colbert is on bye week. I won't have to decide until week 4. I guess I'm just wanting to hear some general thoughts on the two and if anybody thinks either will emerge as a solid contributer to my fantasy team.

so far.. rod has been getting alot of looks
and with after Rod emerges this game he will be passed to even more. colbert is not a safe bet, he may have pulled a cedrick wilson, david terrell
good one week, sorry the next week.

gardner has produced decent numbers every year
and will continue to do so..

Go with the matchup every week then. They'll put up comparable numbers over the course of the season but if you play the matchups right you can maximize production from the 2 of them.

Agree with dans. Put Gardner in this week obviousely. I don't know who they play in week 4 but plug them in there accordingly. I played Colbert last week and his TD was a nice gift as I didn't expect much from him.

Colbeart is a rookie, and therefore it is hard to expect him to have sucess. With Delhomme apparently planning to spread the ball around I doubt Keary will have a ton of value.
