Griese, Dolphins far apart in contract talks NFL.com wire reports
MIAMI (June 4, 2003) -- Brian Griese and the Miami Dolphins are so far apart in their contract talks that the free-agent quarterback's anticipated homecoming might not happen, his agent said.
"The realization is coming that it's going to be very difficult to get something done with Miami," agent Ralph Cindrich said. "That's the reality right now."
Cindrich would not specify exactly how far apart the two sides are, but he has said Griese would prefer to sign a one-year contract. Miami is reportedly offering a two-year deal.
Dolphins officials could not be reached for comment.
Brian Griese has lost his dadgum mind.
He should be paying the Dolphins.

This has the potential to top last year's most butt-stoopid move. The Bucs offered RB Ricky Watters $1M on a 1-year contract.
Ricky, in his infinite wisdom, decided the offer was an insult.
Today, Ricky Watters would have $1M in his wallet and a Super Bowl ring on his finger.
Instead, he sleeps 'till noon and plays X-Box all afternoon.
Go figure.
Griese should take the $$ and then prove himself worthy. Hell, he got a huge contract in Denver and did not earn it. Now he needs to earn it and he is crying about it. His dad Bob needs to put a foot in his son's ass! BTW - Greise call FF guys "geeks" a long time ago. I remember that. What goes around comes around. Hey Brian, look out for that dog! Also, how can the Cardinals not be interested in going after Brain Griese. I doubt he would want to go there, but if they threw a lot of $$ his way he may not resist, Overpay ie. Starks and Dexter Jackson. The Cards are really going to go into the season with Jeff Blake as there future? Geez, the Arizona Bengals? Maybe they know something about Griese that everyone else knows but are ignoring. Come to think of it maybe they do know what they are doing...... na.
