Griffin looked like crap last week, but he was playing the tough Jags defense. Anyone think Griffin will struggle and Bell will come up big late?

I don't think they're going to just throw Bell in for fun when Griffin has been running well. Any RB is going to struggle against good defenses, but when Denver plays an average/poor defense, he's going to get his yards.

The only way I can see Bell getting in there is if Denver is out of the playoff race. Then they may want to see what he can do. Otherwise, I'd say at this point it's Griffin's job unless he gets hurt.

After Week 3 (gimme game: SD @ Denver), Bell gets moved to the backburner again for a couple weeks at the minimum. Ressurrect this thread in week 6.....

Kinda figured I'd get those answers. Bell was so highly touted in the offseason and now <poof> nothing. Yes Griffin played very well against KC. But, everyone plays well on KC. He finally plays a good run defense and looked horrid. Just thinking if he continues to stay consistent, Bell may get some looks.

No one runs against the Jacksonville defense. Will they bench Chris Brown after he sucks it up this week? No. Griffin is fine and will have a great game this week. Jacksonville isn't a good run D, they are a great run D. Bell will be sitting on the bench all year.

I recently read that Tatum Bell may be taking some of the goal-line carries (a la Bettis and Staley), so this is probably a situation that Griffin owners want to monitor carefully ...

OK, last year JAX had the second ranked run D behind Tennessee... In week 1 they shut down both Travis Henry and Willis McGahee... In week 2 they shut down Griffin... In week 3 they'll shut down Brown, etc... etc...

That doesn't mean anything regarding who gets or keeps a starting job... Unless Griffin starts posting crap numbers against crap D's, he'll remain the number 1 all year, barring injury....

bunch of people who wated picks on bell thinking they are brilliant..... found out they were fools and are trying desperately to justify the high pick.

I agree. I have Bell but only cause somebody dropped him and I picked him up off the waiver wire. I'm not expecting anything out of him at all.
