Pittman to return in Week 4

Michael Pittman, RB TB

News: According to the St. Peterburg Times, Michael Pittman (suspension) will return in Week 4. "Pittman calls all the time," coach Jon Gruden said. "He's been scrutinized. But I'm really proud of what he's done. He's stood in the face of some intense adversity and rightfully so."

Analysis: Pittman is worth a roster spot in leagues with 12-plus teams.

>Anybody have any take on whether or not he will be the starter when he returns, or at least see the bulk of carries? I think due to the Bucs woeful running attack and the 0-2 and probably soon to be 0-3 start, he would be a refreshing presence to the team, using Garner as a 3rd down back. Garner just isn't an every down back anymore (IMO).

I think he'll eventually work his way back to a starter. Garner just doesn't have it anymore. The guy is like 34 or 35.

Pittman was the starter last year and only had ZERO rushing TDs and 2 receiving TDs

He had no TDs (might use Allstott for that-- if they ever get close enough to try) but he did have 750+ yds in 13 starts and 75 receptions. Not back if you're in a yardage league that also rewards for receptions. Realistically, I'm not looking for him to give me 10-12 TDs a year anyway.

His former teammate, Me-shawn had over 100 grabs one year and I think only 1 TD. Crazy stats.

He had the second most receptions for runningbacks last season. For pt/rec. leagues, he's definitely worth a roster spot. I've had my eye on him for a few weeks now, but it seems that the word is getting around about him pretty quickly as week 4 gets closer.

Garner had like 75+ yards on about 16 carries.

If he had more carries, he easily would've been over 100.

I don't think Garner looked that bad last week. The Bucs problem has more to do with QBs and WRs than with RBs.

Will there be a RB by commitee when he caomes back. One has to wonder because even though Pittman has been suspended he still has to be physically and mentaly ready to play football. Think about it. The guy (Pittman) is a thug and will continue to be and I would not touch him with a pole. At least Garner will Play footbal and not try to kill his family with his SUV.
To compete is to understand life!

He may be worth something, or he may not. As a ww pickup, I'm willing to take a shot. Or maybe I'm just that desperate for a RB to pick up the slack of my team.
