The OTHER Faulk...

Postby Homeless » Mon Jun 09, 2003 10:52 am

According to the Boston Herald, Kevin Faulk's role in New England's offense may be expanding. He was very involved in the offense over the weekend and there is speculation he may see time on first and second downs during the season.

Faulk scored six times last season as the third-down back. More playing time could turn him into a viable fantasy threat. Also, if Antowain Smith is out of shape again, Faulk may need to do even more. Stay tuned.

How many RBs will be involved in New England's RBBC this year? I feel Faulk will have an increased roll this year and if they sign Mike Could he will see some time as well. Looks like the team is tired of Antowain Smith coming to camp out of shape every year.

Too bad Faulk doesn't have the build to be an every down back. I think he would make a nice #2 RB.

I have said this before...Faulk just needs a chance, if he gets his shot he may just prove that he can handel it...but one way or another they should find out this year, they need to get him more involved and see what hes made of....Smith is not the guy for this team, NE needs some new blood in the backfield....IMO

The good thing about this situation is we will know by the preseason if they are willing to give Faulk a shot. If he is not featured in the preseason its sayonara, at least from my roster.

Dont take anyone's advice on Womack until he puts on the pads next month. Belicheck has said Antoine could be anything from a special teamer to THE go to guy.
