The Eagles' plan this year is to split time in the backfield between Staley and Correll Buckhalter, and use Brian Westbrook at times, too. If the plan works, Staley's numbers are going to shrink and so will his potential earning ability as a free agent at the end of the season.

Buckhalter looks good running around without pads at minicamp, but he's coming back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. History says backs usually need a year before they return to their pre-injury form.

Westbrook hasn't shown that he is more than a few-carries-a-game back.

I think it could end up signalling the end of Staley as far as being an Eagle.

"Let the Duce loose", may end up coming true but not as the fans would have liked.

Though I think he is the better RB and shows it when playing.

No doubt. I had him on my team last year and he was a great #2 back. Good rec. out of the backfield.

If Buckhaleter is healthy he should win the job. I also had Duce on my team last season and he made one of the best # 3 RBs I ever had.

I like Buckhalter much better than Duce ... especially when it comes to making Dono's life easier

FYI...

I just got back from Philly on business and Buckhalter apparently looks great in camp from what I heard on one of the local sports radio shows. If he's 100%... I think Duce is gone too! Reid said that he "expects for him to have a big season" this year!

Buckhalter has the tools to be the main RB for the eagles. The problem lies with his injury/recovery though. I don't see Reid pushing Bucky into a "workhorse" role, which means that the RBBC will stand in Philly this season. Bucky will get the majority of time in the backfield, followed by Staley and Westbrook...But I don't see any of them putting up huge numbers...

i see them splitting time 50/50 this year since bucky is in his recovery year but i dont see them holding on to duce past that unless a miracle happens. honestly i think duce will be traded in the offseason for draft picks so the eagles can replace some of the aging players they have on defense.
