Am I crazy for wanting Portis over Williams?

I just got the 2nd pick in our league. We still don't draft for a while. I'm very confident the guy in front of me is going to take LT2. As of right now I'm going to go with Portis. 1pt reception/ 1 pt 10 yds/ 6pt TDS, basic scoring. Some reasons I want Portis over Williams: more receptions, more explosive, I'm still nervous about Williams' injury history. What do you guys think?

I think i'd look at the teams each will be facing, I slightly favor Williams, he has been getting better and better.
Then again I dont think you will go wrong picking Portis, his upside is HUGE.
If you follow conventional wisdom, I think most would draft Williams, however none would be disappointed if they got Portis

I agree. Along with the teams each will be facing, you should weigh how each will do in your league's scoring format. With pts for each reception, along with yardage/td's, I do like Portis. I think Plummer will have a heck of a time starting out and he'll look to his rb and te for a dump pass here and there.

I'd take Portis, but a strong argument can be made for either.

I would definitely take Portis over Williams. Partly because I'm weary of William's injury history but also because I think Plummer is going to help the Broncos big time and the passing game will open it up for the run. I also agree with slowkidz - Plummer is gonna have a tough start and Portis will carry the load for a while. Fiedler (or Griese) knows the system well and will continue from where he left off last year.

I can see arguments for both of them. I don't think many people took Priest Holmes before Faulk last year. It's a new season we're drafting for this year and sometimes you gotta go with your "Gutt" feeling.

its simple if you really want portis trade down a couple spots where you still know you will get him and pick- up an extra 4, 5, or 6th rnd. pick at the same time.

why?

1) same personnel as last year
2) same system as last year
3) full training camp with them
