Which day starts the new week, Sunday or Monday?

I have an ongoing debate with a person from the cafe, that will be un-named. (*cough* Tiki *cough*) He thinks Sunday starts the new week and I think Monday starts the new week. What do you think?

Sorry, but with the calendars we use these days, the first day of the week (from left to right) is Sunday...therefore, I'd say that's the first day of the week.

i see it in terms of work/school days, so monday is the first day of the week. its a brutal way to start the week, but thats just how it is

I still believe that Sunday is the "week-end", and since school/work begins on Monday, Monday is the first day of the week.

Technically its Sunday, and I find it strange that anyone would argue that.

But my mind and body are fixed with the week beginnin Monday, so the question can really be interpreted two different ways.
