Dillon Underrated???

Postby Guttpuppy » Thu Jun 12, 2003 10:48 pm

Corey Dillon - RB, Cincinnati Bengals June 12, 5:54 p.m.
The knock on Dillon is that his numbers can be uneven week-to-week and he too often comes up short on the goal line. Boo-hoo. Dillon has rushed for more than 1,100 yards in each of his six NFL seasons and hasn’t missed a game in more than three years. What’s more, he has upside because the Bengals actually appear to be making strides on offense.
Fantasy Spin: Dillon is a decent No. 1 back and great No. 2. (Jason Langendorf/TSN)

I totally agree too. The line is gonna be better w/ Big 10 offensive Lineman of the Year Eric Steinbeck, and Levi Jones coming off an impressive rookie season last year. On top of that, they added Reggie Kelly, one of the best blocking tight ends in the game. Marvin Lewis said that this year's running attack will be more "north and south" and less "east west" which makes total sense when considering Dillon's style.

Its amazing how he gets over looked year after year because of the team he is on. I almost got him as a 3rd (yes 3rd) back last year but the guy in front of me grabbed him.

I've always wanted to have him on my team because the guy never ever misses games and he is THE RB for that team no if ands or buts.

Maybe this year I'll get lucky...

..and get to draft Dillon.

(rimshot).

Isn't this all so funny? Where were you guys when everyone was telling me I needed to try and trade Dillon last month instead of making him my third keeper? All I heard was that he was 12-15 on the RB depth chart, which makes him a fine #2 RB, but not a 1st round pick. I couldn't get a deal, so I kept him, and have been hoping that the Bengals' improvement will turn him into a more consistent 1300-yard, 10-TD guy. :-b

Sorry, Nero... I should have been more explicit.

When I say where were you guys, I was referring to my first post (May 21 - Keeper Question: How Good Is Corey Dillon? - under Trade, Keeper, and Roster Questions). 9erFan, Homeless, Terpfan, and Rosey all showed no love for Dillon.

NFLknowitall was the only real Dillon supporter besides some guy who said Dillon might lead the league in rushing? Who was that? Well whaddya know, it was you. ;-D

Never mind. Heh
