Is Aaron Stecker for real?

Postby charlief1975 » Mon Sep 27, 2004 12:05 pm

Is Stecker for real or just Rams have an awful D?

I picked up stecker on league, didn't start him, but his numbers looked pretty good. He did have one long run, but he still had some quality.

Is he worth the spot? Trade bait?

Here's a great quote from Stecker:

"Hey, I'm a running back. It's not like they pulled me out of the front office and said, 'Deuce is out, do you know how to play some running back?'"

Ask yourself, "is DeShaun Foster for real?"

Besides, will Brooks picking up his game, that should make things even easier for Stecker to be successful.

Lol good quote, but I don't think the Dolphin r.b.'s are saying the same thing.

He looked nice replacing Deuce. I wish they had gaven him more carries, its sort of scary to think what he would have done with 20-25 carries. But I'm guessing that Stecker is now going to get nearly all the carries after his great game and Ki-Janas crapfest of a game. Don't underestimate the Cardinals, they are actually playing decent defense. But I doubt they can stop Stecker. Or Brooks, to boot.

AZ has given up some decent numbers to RBs so stecker makes for a good play.

I don't think he is 'for real' but he was the MVP of NFL Euro or some s#!t like that. He isn't completely without talent, but I think his success was more a lack of trying to stop Aaron Stecker and more trying to stop Aaron Brooks and Joe Horn.

Against a bad D like the Rams or Cards he is a decent play. I think most teams will shut him down though.

There was also talk the Saints don't trust Stecker to handle the load. I'm not sure this game erased all doubts. Who knows, Ki-Jana Carter could still put up 100 this week.

Maybe he is as for real as Q was in week one. Only time'll tell. I would only play him against horrible Ds. Like next week.

I think it is funny how after one week everyone is talking about how this guy is for real and how they got him in at a bargain price. "I got Q in the 7th round" stuff like that. Now it looks like picking up Wayne with that pick might have been better. Next week come the Ki'juana Carter and Tatum Bell for real posts when they play a good game.
