Larry Johnson to the Dolphins?

Postby killiansjmd » Mon Sep 27, 2004 1:08 pm

Miami Herald is reporting the Chiefs contacted the Dolphins to see if they were interested in trading for Larry Johnson.

It would be a great break for Johnson but then again he's just another Penn State RB that will probably become a bust.

Not sure how good Johnson can be in the NFL because he's never had the chance; plus Miami is not good. Despite these things; he will be flying off the waiver wire this wk. Holmes owners who have him already are smiling.

Vermeil didn't help his trade value with that diapers comment. I just wish they could trade him straight up for Miami's D.

Doesnt make sense. L. Gordon was more of a sure thing than L. Johnson. So after tossing a third round pick away for Gordon not 3 weeks ago, what would they have to give up for a 2nd year former first round pick?

Considering the return of Ricky Williams probable, its not a good deal for the Dolphins. I would wait on Ricky, talk to Dallas about J. Jones and future picks, and see what comes of it. Ricky always wanted to go back to Texas.

KC wanted one of Miami's DB (not Madison) , but just doesnt seem likely to waste another player and/or picks when they just uses some of their future picks on Feely and Gordan......................

but heck, i picked Larry up anyway, heh! :-)

Just read KC front office suggested a Larry Johnson to the Cowboys for Antonio Bryant. Now that would be a fantasy impact.

I'd trade him for an average corner at this point. They should have drafted one with his pick in the first place.

Miami's just going to suck it up this year, and they'll get a good spot in the draft.. I think our buddy Dave knows that too, and that he's going to be fired finally... I don't think johnson would do much over there either.. LT couldn't do anythign in miami

IMO, the Dolphins know damn well that the problem in their running game is not the back, it's the line... They did the Lamar Gordon experiment, and that proved it... Unless they could somehow trade for an elite back, to bring in to put up mediocre numbers, they will not make this move... Not if they're smart, anyways... It doesn't do them any good to burn future picks on another RB... They need those picks to improve that line... If they really want to improve their running game, they should work on trading for lineman... Maybe dangle some of that defensive talent out there for an elite lineman...

how about johnson to the bucs for mccardell. if kc could get him under contract and if pittman doesn't produce, it would be a good trade for both of them.
