You are correct that Pittman didn't have a single TD, but Mike Alstott spent most of last year out with an injury, so it had nothing to do with him... It was probably due more to the Tampa Bay system, and the fact that Tampa all around sucked last year...
I really don't think any Tampa RB is worth much with how poorly that offense plays. Jamel White is somewhat intrguing, but he's buried on the depth chart. Too bad, White is probably the most talented.
I think Pittman is a very nice pickup right now. Pittman may have scooped up the job regardless, and the fact that he's out makes Pittman a virtual lock for the starting spot.
someone else posted a good point about pittman in an earlier thread, about how all his yards and no tds last year were while he was sharring with thomas jones. Thats a good point I think. so what can pittman do without sharring carries that is the question.
Just a few points to address what other people have said.
"Tampa Bay sucked last year offensively"--This is true, but they're worse this year.
"Pittman didn't get TD's because he split carries with T. Jones"--T. Jones only got 3 TD's last year.
The fact is that Alstott is Tampa's goal line back. Pittman couldn't even get TD's last year with Alstott out of the lineup. With Alstott healthy now I don't like Pittman's TD opportunities.
Pittman is a guy I'd pick up only if you are very, very desperate.
