Is ATL defense for real?

I picked this D up for a bye week fill in for the Pats, but know i don't know if I should drop them. IS this D for real, or just the benefactor of some good matchups.

They are an ok Defense, but I think for the most part are a beneficiary of matchups.

yes and no. I am an Atlanta fan and I would say no. They have a good D so far, but start New England every week. Atlanta has no secondary other than Byron Scott (a safety).

You have the Pats D, just drop the ATL D and improve a weakness. You don't have to worry about it for the rest of the year. You can't put a defense on the injury list.

I think its all luck and matchups. Theres always one unknown defense which rises every week 'fantasy wise' but the solid defenses are those like baltimore, newengland and miami which do not get those huge fantasy pts but are the hardest to play on the field.

I have Miami and Atlanta. I've started Miami every week and they haven't done squat. Atlanta has scored almost 30 points every week. Now I'll start Atlanta and I'm sure they'll bust.

Yeah I think they're a match up based defense
They'll shut out teams equal to or worse than them.. but anyone better than them I dont think they'll do well on.

I think their worth has be exaggerated by playing SF and Arizona in 2 of the 1st 3 games.

I don't usually recommend hanging on to two DEF's any longer than a bye-cover, but in this case, I'd wait to see how they do against CAR this weekend. If they still score well, fantasy-wise, I'd consider trading NE. The Falcons sked looks rather soft to me for their defense, especially finishing with TB/OAK/CAR/NO. I have no doubt that NE should be better, but they could have some actual trade value where you might gain more than enough at another position to offset the downgraded D. At this point, I wouldn't be too worried if I was 'stuck' with Atl D for the year.
