Westbrook prospects (With Ritchie out?)

That should hurt Westbrook, but I think that will be offset by T.O. opening up the passing game, which in turn opens up the running game.

I thought this guy was going to run for 1500 yards and 2000+ combined? Looks like your typical 3rd down back to me. Nice change of pace guy but I have a better shot at carrying the load than this guy over 16 weeks.

Lets compare Westbrook to the elite RBs of this years draft: Priest, LT, Green, Alexander, Duece, Portis, Edge, and Lewis. If you have an argument for how any one of these guys are 3rd down RBs, I'd love to hear it. I could use the laugh.

So far only two 1st round fantasy RBs have more yardage than Westbrook. I'd like to hear your list of typical 3rd down backs that produce like this. However, the data isn't quite fair. To measure the actual effectiveness of each RB you have to account for the caveat that more touches will generally equal more yards. So, lets analyze their respect total yards per touch(ypt). Here's how they shake out:

Westbrook 6.26 ypt
Lewis 5.57 ypt
Portis 4.84 ypt
James 4.83 ypt
Holmes 4.62 ypt
LT 4.49 ypt
Green 4.29 ypt
Alexander 4.07 ypt
Duece 3.71 ypt

Clearly, Westbrook is being more effect with each time he touches the ball than any of these premier RBs who clearly are not 3rd down RBs. Might have something to do with him not being a 3rd down RB.

Finally, the most basic and simple thing you should have checked before posting your ignorant Eagles-hate, let's project Westbrook's yardage totals based on his first 3 games:

Rushing: 1237.3
Receiving: 762.6
Total: 2000 yards

Hmm, he's right on track for 2000 all purpose yards. That's more than Jamal Lewis or Tomlinson can claim.

Hey 99% of the time projections ....... well they don't PROJECT genius. Guess what after 3 weeks of the baseball season Roger Clemens was on pace for 40 wins, Adam Dunn was on pace for 88 home runs - guess what it's not going to happen. Westbrook IF, IF he stays healthy has 900 rush yards and 500 rec yards written all over him - good numbers but not 2000 like that a-wipe Brutally Huge was saying before the season.
