Where do you rank Hines Ward right now?

Postby Showtyme5 » Tue Sep 28, 2004 10:13 pm

I've never had him on my team, but this dude can play. He's proved to be one of the most reliable WR's I've ever had. I think hes right there near the top below Moss and Owens, but thats about it. I don't even think Harrison is above him right now. I told my buddy today I wouldn't trade Ward straight up for his BELOVED Harrison and he almost lost it haha. But, I don't think I would. Ward is reliable as all hell and I think even though he has a rookie QB in Roethlisberger, I'm betting he's gonna get even more looks (maybe???) because thats the only guy the rookie can trust to get open (Burress has issues). On top of that Stokley and Wayne are taking TD's away from Harrison. Anyways, let me know what you guys would rate Ward RIGHT NOW? His value is up there between TO and Harrison tho IMO. Even better than Holt. I love this guy.

I rank Moss, TO, Harrison, Holt and C.Johnson ahead of him. I think those five are a step ahead of him in the talent department.

Moss
Owens
Ward
CJ
Holt
Harrison

Ward is a great WR. Hes not the best athlete, but knows the game very well. I caught part of the game in the mud and he didn't lose a step. Thats flat out route running and nothing more. Also I read somewhere (ill dig up the link if I can) that a preseason poll of NFL DB's ranked Hines in the top 5 among WR's that would benefit from he rules.

They essentially said his routes are so crips you have to hold onto him.

Im with GP 100%. Hines is only behind Moss and Owens.

This is one of the overall articles I still had in history.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/preview04/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=1871681

But this one only talks about the Steelers in general. Ill see if I can find the one that actually broke down the top 10 wrs.

Ill post it if I can track it down again.

A really tough solid Wr. Altough hes not that fast hes an excellent route runner. I would rank him below Moss and Owens and above Holt and Harrison

I would have him right where I had him in the pre-season, Number 5, behind Moss, Harrison, Owens and Holt. Although the gap between him and Holt has shrunk.
Stewie: [hitting on some co-eds] I must say, the most recent campus sporting event was quite spectacular.
Co-ed: Aw. Are you in a fraternity, little boy?
Stewie: Not yet, but I'm thinking of joining I Felta Thigh.
