Commish Help Bad Trade

Postby Gostlrs » Tue Sep 28, 2004 10:49 pm

team 1 trades A. Green, H. Ward and Travis Henry to team 2 for L. Coles, M. Bennett, K Barlow and Chestor Taylor. our scoring system is performance based with more points for the longer TD's. Should i let this trade go through. it is basically so the one team can win the league (think money was involved and money split at the end of the year)

Do you have any reason to believe it is collusion other than the fact that it is lopsided?
You are probably going to have to veto it, I am just wonderring.

I'd go to the team trading away Green/Ward/Henry and ask why he thinks the players he's getting in return will benefit him more than the players he's trading away.

Then tell him that if he can't convince you that this trade is legit, you're going to nix it.

Because brother, that's as bad of a trade as I've seen in a while.

kick your commish in the sack, have him boot the owner out and freeze the roster.

trading players for cash was brought up before. team getting the crap players is 0-3. there are alot of first time players in this league and drafted crappy, team getting the good players is a vet and been trying to make trades like this to all the new guys.

players for cash...

you mean players for in-game cap room (auction league?)

or out of pocket dollar bills?

Your league rules need work man. And quick.

If an owner elludes to that they are going to share the league winning between two owners, then that is the hardline meaning of collusion.

If you can get the owner's to say outright that there was money being exchanged in this trade, or a share of the winning purse was gonna trade hands, you need to kick them out of the league and confiscate their league fees asap. If you're gonna allow that type of cheating to slide in your league what's the point of playing the game. That's like inviting a friend over to a barbeque only to have him steal your Joe Montana autographed football on the way out the door.... you should kick these guys' asses for messing up the league. LITERALLY.
