Jones.....better line, (but premature to say with any definateness with rex out now).

NYJ line is banged up and likely won't get a bunch better.

No way I'd go with Jones. Chances are he's going to fizzle. People love to trade 1/2 year team for week 1-3 studs. Martin has been a fantasy machine for 9 years. I'd stick with him easily.

Haha. I have Jones and there's absolutely no way I'd trade him for Curtis Martin. That's a joke.

Indeed, C-mart was a fantasy hero last year.....what with all of his trips to the end-zone and all.. ;-)

Seriously...I'd have a hard time with this. Both are not locks by any means to continue their FF outputs.

Tough tough call.

If I had to have one, I'd take the RB with the better chance to score TDs. Amazingly enough, that's Martin this year.

Martin has been an every other year player for many years now. Go with Curtis this year and enjoy his last NFL hurray.

Jones, Jones, Jones, Jones, Jones... with Grossman out, you can expect he will become an even more crucial part of the offense. And Martin... is... old. Still got gas in the tank, no doubt... not much left though. And one question stands out... can he last the whole season? Even if he has the endurance, can he avoid injury? Jones is the much more reliable pick.

Jones...no doubt.

Jones continues to put up 2001 Priest-esque numbers (first year in KC offense for both)

The X-Factor: How Jones does without Grossman...but I still like him b/c his rush & rec yards.

Last division games: NFC North v. AFC East

Answer: Jones.

Unless you absolutely have to make a deal this week, I would put this one on the back burner. In another week, we'll see how much effect the loss of Grossman will have on the Bear's and Thomas Jones. Remember how horribly awful the Bear's were last season behind Kordell Stewart? Gotta wait and see on that one.

Martin on the other hand is going to be facing some tough defenses in the coming weeks and we'll see how much the Jet's have really improved this year behind Pennington. After week 6 both situations will be a lot clearer if you can afford to wait that long.

If I had to make the decision today, I would go with Martin because he is the proven option out of the two. Martin has always had the carries and yardage going for him, chalk him down for 300 carries/1200+ yards, but this year he is seeing the all important goalline carries.... Thomas Jones is seeing those goalline carries as well, but he is still unproven in my eyes and between the Bear's offense and the Jet's, there is no comparison.
