Should I pick up Tatum Bell?

Should I try to beat my leaguemates to the punch and pick up Bell? Do you guys think he could be starting in the near future?

If Griffin continues to struggle and fumble then I'm sure Bell will get a chance. Shanahan backed Griffin this week and said he's not worried.

I would only pick up Bell if:

A) I owned Quentin Griffin...

B) I had a roster spot to kill on a total maybe-possibly-someday type of player...

I think this had alot to do with his injuries and lack of time with the team due to those injuries. He wasn't even able to practice with them. I think Bell will be the guy to replace Griffin if the need is there. Here is a link from Yahoo saying basically what I am saying.

Shanahan is one of the guys I wouldn't even attempt to guess waht is on his mind. He's nuts. I don't have a clue whether he hates Bell or has held him out until he's healthy because he loves the kid. I agree that if you have a junk spot, Bell is someone you might want to take a shot on or if you have Griffin.

Actually it was week 5 I believe.

And by week 3 he already had an 18carry, 103yd and a TD game.

True, Portis had been more involved up to the point he started. I guess what I think is most relevant is you never know with Shanahan.

Agreed. If you can afford the spot, he's worth hanging on to. Bell was a stud in college. I really think it's only a matter of time before Bell takes the job. Only problem, he'll still be splitting some time with Griffin even if Q-tip loses the starting job.
