Alge Crumpler stud or dud?

Postby elway7 » Wed Sep 29, 2004 11:51 am

Alge Crumpler starter off hot w/ alot of hype but faded a little in week 2 and disappeared in week 3. Who is the real Alge and what can be expected from him this week?

It's hard to tell with TE's. As TE's go he's top five probably but there will be some pretty thin weeks on occasion.

Gonzalez is about as close as they come. Shockey and Heap are nowhere near him. If you can get 3-6 points from your TE every week, you should be fine.

This is how I have the TE picture right now: (Heap not included)

T Gonz
Shockey
Crumpler
McMike
Gates

I'd say I have Crump pretty high right now, but I think he more than deserves that rank with the lack of TE depth or dependability.

agreed, hes 2nd TE in the NFL by far.

Gonz is good.

Crumpler is Vicks favorite target and will stay that way, plus hes a tough sonofoabish.

Say what you want about Shockey, but he's past his prime and Crumpler has taken over his spot, especially with how weak Shockeys health is the last 2 years.

Heap is very very good as well, but same thing, injuries.

Crumpler is as good as its gonna get havin a TE if you don't have gonzo, he'll have some very large games...keep in mind he's been the leading WR for Atlanta every game thus far, Arizona is suprisingly tough against the pass.

What prime? He's never entered his prime.

It's mad hard to rank TEs b/c they vary from week to week normally. If I had to, I'd have Crumpler in the Top 5 though...

Crumpler COULD have had a solid game last week but Vick was off. He looked for Crumpler but missed on several occasions (at least once was in the endzone). I have Crumpler in several leagues and I can't imagine trading him for anyone other than Gonzo.

Ditto here. Vick's inconsistency will affect Crump's, but in the end Crump should be one of the top TE this season and in following seasons.
Respect Stevie McNair. Bow down to the pouch.
