Leftwich has been mediocre at best so far this season. Will he be able to pick it up? What are some predictions for Lefty the rest of the way?

I haven't seen the jags play at all this year but I'm guessing Reggie Williams is progressing slowly and Left doesn't have many options to spread the field and get the double teams off Jimmy Smith. Once R.Williams can establish himself then Left numbers will go up.

What I was really looking at with him are the matchups. He started the season with:

Buffalo
Denver
Tennessee

All three have decent to really good pass defense capability. Now look at his schedule the rest of the way:

IND (pass defense is awful and Leftwich will have to air it out to keep up)
SD
KC (miserable secondary)
IND (again)
HOU
bye
DET
TEN (will be a tough one for him)
MIN
PIT
CHI
GB (Manning had his way with this defense)

To me, this is very optimistic. What do you all think?

It is a tempting schedule to take advantage of. I saw the Jax/Buff game and it wasn't simply a good Buff D, he was just bad. Not reading well, flustered in the pocket, poor passing choices. If it wasn't for Smith his stats would have been worse. I had forgotten how good Jimmy is.

I think he will improve from where he is now but will not put up FF numbers that will make or break a team.

I agree that his receivers are hurting him. Outside of Smith he has two rookies, drop the ball Taylor and George Wrightster :-o It's hard to make good reads when your receivers run the wrong routes and fail to get seperation.

However my biggest concern is the offensive scheme. They seem content to kill clock and let the defense win games. Bad news for fantasy.

I had him backing up McNair :~( . Needless to say I am 1-2. I picked up Collins hoping for some points.

I know his thumb was bothering to begin the season. Hopefully it is healing. I also agree that his 3 toughest games are behind him. I think we'll have a better idea after this weekend's game vs the swiss cheese Indy D.
