Depends on how your league scores... I don't think NO is going to give up a lot of points, but I think ARI is improving, and I don't think you will see the same number of turnovers v. NO that you saw v. ATL....
but in response to this question, i have done defense by committe the past 3 years, first year i went to the superbowl, last yaer i came in 4th, and this yera im 0-3 so far
make sure you are in a league that gives you pleanty of 'moves' each season... otherwise, after all your add/drop fun with defense you will be screwed midway through the season when you have an injury or two and have no moves left
Typically, I haven't done it this way. But this year I have. I have Philly and New England.
Wk 1 - i used Philly vs NY Giants instead of NE vs. Indy
Wk 2 - i used NE vs. Arizona instead of Phi vs. Min
Wk 3 - i used Philly vs. Detroit as it was NE's bye week
Wk 4 - i used Philly vs. Chi instead of NE vs. Buffalo
Still rethinking week 4, but I like the matchups so far.

I bet. What rds did you use to get those Ds in your draft?
It's a keeper league, and I had a couple extra picks in the 2nd, and 3rd rds. I believe i used a third and 5th rd pick. May sound high, but 12 person league, and each player keeps 5.

I don't see how you can pass up NE vs. Buffalo man, NE owns Bledsoe. You're looking at like 5-7 sacks, couple picks, maybe some fumbles, and a low scoring game. NE defense is money in week 4.
I love the NE pick, but what if I were to tell you that neither of them have finished in the top 5 fantasy D's yet. Now, I fully understand its a small sample size only being 3 weeks in, and I really dont mean to pick on you AT ALL - however, this is just an example of the theory that drafting Ds early - even the elite Ds - really isnt worth it.
I understand your point completely Cornbread. We are required to have two defenses and I drafted NE as the 2nd def picked (Baltimore like a rd before me) and then Philly was the 7th defense picked.
Each week I have been lucky with the one I picked putting up more points. I don't have the option of picking up one each week depending on matchup. I would have to drop one of these two, and that is pretty unlikely.
Also, with having extra picks in the first few rounds, I really was drafting mostly 2nd string players at that point. I got Gates, Josh Brown, and David Carr were my only picks after the Philly one.
So for my roster, I did take them relatively late.
So I need to rethink the Philly going against Jonathin Quinn?

I understand. Your situation is diff because of the keepers and position requirements.
As for Phi v. Chi, its a very good matchup - one which I think gives the NE v Buf matchup a run for its money. Im not sure how you could go wrong starting either this week.
