Troupe to start??

Postby hellmat » Thu Sep 30, 2004 1:24 pm

Any recent news out of tennessee wether or not Ben Troupe is going to start this weekend? With Kinney sidelined he could be a sleeper this week. Tennessee has always gotten their TE's involved in the gameplan. And do you think starting Troupe over Pollard would be to risky of a move??

Last I ready McNair was probably not going to play as well. So it is debateable or not whether it will help Troupe's numbers.

Looks like he'll be in...

Stats Inc. wrote:Sep 28 Troupe is expected to get the starting nod for the Titans in Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, filling in for regular starter Erron Kinney, who could miss several weeks with a second-degree tear in his right calf. The rookie tight end, a second-round pick in this year's draft, has seen limited playing time so far this season, hauling in two passes for 12 yards in one game.

From fanball.com:

Troupe makes a sneaky play against a forgiving Chargers defense, as he'll get most of the passes previously directed at Erron Kinney. With Kinney out nursing a sore calf, Troupe should see five catches, 50 yards, and maybe even a score.

I think Troupe could make a nice start this week for those hurting at TE.

I'm unsure of the details surrounding Erron's injury, how long will he be out?

Kinney will be out for 3-4 weeks with a second degree calf strain - which he injured a few years ago (same injury). Troupe is starting to catch up with the mental part of the game and I'm sure the Titans will get some confidence by giving a few 6and 7 yard catches - I think how well he does will depend on his yardage AFTER the catch - they're not going to send him deep YET!!

Thanks KT. I like him Troupe, probably because I have him in my Madden franchise (he can't block for shit).

But I sorta have a bad feeling with him, Winslow and Watson already out for the season... this isn't a good year for rookie TEs.

Good info like this is why this is a great forum. I am waiting on Heap to get healthy, and picking up Troupe may help me out in the next few weeks. Thanks.
