Wow, I wish all athlete's had his mindset and strength. (Pay close attention NBA!!)
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Steve McNair stretched and ran Friday, but he didn't throw any passes. Yet he's looking healthy enough that Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher won't rule him out against San Diego.
After the quarterback bruised his sternum in last week's 15-12 loss to the Jaguars, sending him to the hospital for two nights, Fisher said he didn't think McNair would be able to play against the Chargers.
Fisher said Friday that McNair has ``improved significantly.''
``We are going to have a walkthrough out there tomorrow, and we will see how he is tomorrow,'' Fisher said.
McNair said he wasn't sure if he will play and that it depends on how he feels Sunday.
``It's still hard to breathe, take a deep breath. That's my main concern. If I have to scramble, if I have to go out and come back, can I call the play? That's the main objective in running, trying to get the cardio back up,'' McNair said.

No doubt Air McNair is one tough SOB, but I have to give my vote to Brett Favre. The man didn't let the death of his father/mentor slow him down. Never missing a single game to injury... that has to top Stevie Mac.
I was about to post suggesting Favre, but I see you guys have it covered. Two guys who not only have played through multiple injuries, but have played well (and sometimes better) when injured. Studs. And I'll give a shout-out to Travis Henry too; the man is a trooper.

McNair is certainly tough. I was actually hoping to see Volek this weekend, though. I think he might actually give Tennessee a spark. But who knows, maybe with Calico back that will be enough.
i'm currently getting mcnair in a trade, getting onterrio smith with him, for q griffin and jake delhomme. i cant believe the guy is jumping ship after 3 games - the guy is an ironman. even marty schottenheimer expects the guy to show up sunday and throw for 300 yds! i couldnt be happier, and i'm already stacked at rb. and im getting questions regarding onterrio - hopefully will get to move him.
