Based solely on athletic ability, the Texans think Andre Johnson can avoid the struggles typically encountered by rookie wide receivers.
"Andre certainly has the athletic talent," coach Dom Capers said. "He's big, he's strong and he's fast. And he's been picking up things quickly in the classroom. He's done a nice job there. That has helped him gain confidence. With young players, it's easy to see whether they're confident or not because they don't play full speed when they're not confident."
