According to ESPN.com, the Patriots have signed former-Chief running back Mike Cloud to a one-year deal believed to be worth the veteran minimum. If he makes the team, Cloud will miss the first four games of the regular season while serving a suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Cloud will have a hard time making the team, as the Pats already have Antowain Smith, Kevin Faulk, J.R. Redmond, and Antwoine Womack.
