I'm the commish. Someone has Harrington (on bye) and Kevin Jones (bye and hurt) in their lineup. Fred Taylor and Trent Green are the obvious choices to replace them. If he doesn't change them, he'll get murdered. Do I as commish make the change? He's going against a pretty darn good team (McNabb, Portis, DDavis, Coles, Porter) and will probably lose anyway.
I know he should be responsible for his actions, but I really don't want to hand away a free victory (QBs score a ton in our league so he's guaranteed to lose if he doesn't start a QB).
It's not your job to manage the other teams. I'd quit any league where the commish is making moves for the other teams without the owner knowing about it.
You shouldn't have to hold anyone's hand. It would be nice for you to contact them out of courtesy but in no way should you feel obligated to run their team for them. In fact, if I was in that league I'd be pretty upset if the commissioner started giving favored treatment to other teams.

Agree 100%
Also It is not you job to call him and make sure his line up is set, if you do that you better call everyone in your league 1 hr before kickoff every week to make sure thier line up is done correctly.
The ONLY way you change someones line up is if they call you and request it.
as commish...you patrol the league...not lineups...lineups are the responsibility of the owners.

Imagine...
You are tied for a playoff spot on the last week of the season and the team your tied with is playing a cruise control team...
Wouldn't you be POed?
I don't think you should change it for him, but I don't see anything wrong with you trying to contact him and let him know to do it himself. It is possible he just hasn't gotten around to it yet.
