Based on a strong showing in both of Tennessee's minicamps, Drew Bennett has the edge on Justin McCareins in the battle for the Titans' second receiver job. "I think Drew is a little bit ahead," said coach Jeff Fisher. "He has to keep pushing himself and we'll make a decision as we near the end of training camp." Fisher added that McCareins and rookie Tyrone Calico will get plenty of work while Jake Schifino, Darrell Hill, and Eddie Berline are battling for playing time.
Bennett appeared to be a go-to guy for quarterback Steve McNair late last season, while McCareins made big plays but was inconsistent. Calico will probably claim this job sooner rather than later, but for the forseeable future it's a big logjam with Bennett on top.
