Bears | Kreutz to Undergo Surgery - from http://www.KFFL.com
Mon, 4 Oct 2004 13:53:03 -0700

Chicago Bears C Olin Kreutz (elbow) is expected to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow in the next few days. The Bears hope he can return by Week 6 for the Sunday, Oct. 17, game against the Washington Redskins.

If he isn't in the Week 6 lineup that is a big hit for the O-line.

No kidding... good find. Olin is the anchor of that line...

And with Hutch or Quinn back there, I cant see either taking the extra pressure very well...

Thanks for the head's up. I think the title may be a bit too alarming, though. Next week is a bye (I glanced at schedule), if he is back for week 6, then TJ and company are in business. Even if it stretches to the next game, that's still only one game. Again, appreciate the update, but was needlessly panicked. :-)

Arms are nothing to O-linemen. If anything, he'll get a big ass club cast to pound people with.

lmao

I wish I had a club on my arm to beat people with in football...

Seriously, that could be vastly detrimental to his production, and the Bears as a whole on offense...

It's really unfortunate that all these injuries have hit the Bears. Thomas Jones was on pace for a great year. Now, he'll really have a tough time getting any kind of decent yardage. On the other hand, he may turn out to be a cheap L.Tomlinson (i.e, the only thread, rushing and passing). So who knows....

I played linemen for 5 years, including high school. And I can tell you, arms may be nothing, but elbows? You need the manuverability to get your hands up on the guys chest. Of course, Olin is a lot better than i was (you think?), but still... any injury will slow you down.
