Running back Correll Buckhalter, who missed the entire 2002 season after injuring his ACL in minicamp, has impressed Eagles coaches and is a serious threat to Duce Staley’s playing time. “Buck moved, stopped, cut and looked good in our camps,” said Philly offensive coordinator Brad Childress. Helping matters for Buckhalter is that he’s faster than Staley and that Staley held out of the Eagles’ minicamps.
It’s no secret that Philly has been looking for someone to replace Staley. Buckhalter’s apparent return to pre-injury form, coupled with Staley’s absence, certainly stacks the deck in Correll’s favor heading into to the Eagles’ training camp.
