What's in store for Stephen Davis?

Postby Cliff Harris » Mon Jun 30, 2003 1:50 pm

I was surprised to find this guy is still only 28 years old. Seems like he's been around awhile, but really hasn't. I'm starting to believe he could be one heck of a catch come draft day. Carolina's defense is pretty good, they've upgraded their wr's, and if Jake Delhomme is even average, Davis could be a real bargain. Any thoughts on this cat, um, I mean Panther?

I think he will be good.........I would look for him to put up around 1300 on the ground and like 11 or 12 TDs

i'd agree with Joey...he should be a good fit, and as long as Foster doesn't come back too soon, he should stick around Carolina for awhile.

I think he'll have at least 1000 yards and possibly double digit TDs.

Feel the love.
Smell the roses.
Boogie Oogie Oogie 'til you just can't boogie no more.
And give up on Stephen Davis.
The ship has left.
The bars have closed.
And the fat lady's singing in the shower.

Im way too worried about his recent injuries and how susceptible he looked to them. Spurrier made it clear they were parting company and you would expect him to turn it on in that situation, but he had his worst season in years.

Still he makes an awesome 3rd RB and semi decent 2nd this year.

I just drafted him as my 3rd rb in a 16 team league so i'm hoping he does 12 and 12 , 1200 yards and 12 TD's

Davis is a nice sleeper, if you want to call him that. Prior to last year, he had 3 consecutive years with 1300 yds rushing or better. He still averaged 4 yds a carry when slinging Steve would give him the rock. Carolina's got a solid O-line and Dee Brown and Lamar Smith combined for 300+ carries for 1100+ yards and 11 scores. Those 2 dudes aren't great and now Davis is going to be their best weapon. He should rebound well this year.
