Bottomline, keep this thread bumped until the end of the year, and lets see who the better QB is
Keep in mind the original post asked who has more upside in a keeper league. If I had one QB for the rest of the year, I'd go with Bulger (although as I stated earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if Carr overtakes him at some point this year).
Ok... now let's all have a big group hug... awwwwwww....
And in answer to the thread, I believe who has more upside is Carr... not to say he is, or ever will be better... but he has more room to grow. The better QB at this point is obviously the Bulger... I don't think anyone's arguing that. And maybe Carr will overtake Bulger in FF points this year. But all in all, Carr will improve more over the years than Bulger... but Bulger is already good.
One can argue the equal TD-to-INT ratio, and they'd be right... but Bulger also has the 4 TDs in the Pro Bowl... and he was a backup... not too bad against a Pro Bowl defense...
I think Bulger still has room to improve, and he will... he will get smarter about tossing INTs.. but he will consistantly get TDs too. He will surpass his numbers from last year. And so will Carr.
Look for both of these young guys to be very much improved next season too...

How many TDs and INTs did Bulger have last year? That would be the same answer! 22!
Kitna, Brooks, Brad Johnson (!), Brady, Garcia, Favre, Green, McNair (plus all the big guns...Manning, C-Pepp, Hass) had more fantasy points (std yahoo) than Bulger last year.
Just below Peyton and Daunte, right? Make that below all those guys above too. Add the fact that Turley is out and I can't believe someone would say Bulger is an elite QB...
Pretty easy if you ask me, which offense do you like better for now and in the future? The Ram's offense or the Texan's offense.
And before you start comparing talent, just take a look at David Carr's career numbers in Houston.....
for the record, Carr is only 2 yrs younger than Bulger, not to mention Bulger was just signed to something like a 4 yr deal. If your playing a keeper league more than 4 yrs in advance, you probably should change your strategy. I dont think keeper league makes a difference.
4 td's, one being a 20+ run isnt too shabby. Hes also had like a 350+ pass game. Those arent bad numbers, thing is he should be doing better w/ the tds. Oh, and i hope your comparing both their years last year and then assuming everything from that
