how to explain to this guy?

Fair enough.

Ok for arguments sake let us say that S. Moss and F. Taylor combined will score you 20 points. Let's say that R. Moss also scores you 20 points.

So I'm using two slots to achieve those 20 points, while in the other situation I'm using one slot to gain the same 20 points.

Why would I make this trade (throwing out depth and injury problems)?

After all I can always just plug in any random WR in that extra slot that I have, to gain an extra few points. That total will be obviously be higher than the 20 points gained by the F. Taylor and S. Moss owner.

I don't think he's putting too much emphasis on the early season. Most people felt R. Moss was a stud going into the season and he's just living up to expectations.

Randy is a bonafide first round pick, nearly equal in value to a stud RB. This is a very difficult player to trade for because you'd have to pay above market value. Taylor/S. Moss isn't going to cut it. You wouldn't except that deal would you?

I would search for less obvious value to improve you're team. It's riskier but always easir and less expensive to trade for value that hasn't matured yet.

and I didnt ask whether it was a valid deal, I asked about his reasoning.

wrong. At no point in the season will santana and fred taylor come anywhere close to being the same value as randy moss.

that depends on roster depth...

elite player at WR + mediocre/poor player at RB = 2 good players...

What does his roster look like, portisfan?

Alrite sorry guys for getting impatient. I dont know how you can say that at any point santana/fred is worth less than moss. He gets an awesome number 2 back while downgrading at wr. He was weak at rb and santana was considered a breakout threat by many. but anyways I think Im going to take amazinz advice and target someone else. Again, sorry for getting bent out of shape.

Hey guys as RIGHT AS ALL OF YOU ARE! You are missing the point...

He asked for SELLING POINTS of Fred Taylor and S Moss

Selling Points

Fred Taylor
-About to lose goal-line carries
-"injury-prone" tag
-lackluster offense

S Moss
-all the reports that JETs will be spreading the ball around
-Zero TDs
-one of the toughest passing schedules upcoming
-zero hundred yard games

Damn if you pull off this trade......You could probably sell sand in the desert! :-D

hey i was trying to think of good selling points and there are absolutely NONE....

RANDY MOSS now that guy i can MARKET ;-D ....Taylor and Moss... :-t

How big is your league? I could see this trade making more sense in a very large league, where RBs are scarce.

seriously Selling Points

Fred Taylor
-No longer injury prone
-7th easiest schedule for RBs
-Hope that he doesn't know anything about the goaline thing
-JAX offense is about to explode (tongue-n-cheek)

Santana Moss
-Chad Pennington is throwing to him
-Curtis Martins awesome running is opening up his game
-Awesome Jets Defense gives the offense plenty of opportunities
-TRY GIVING HIS STATS from last year
-this is hard man...notice how i make him look good by using everbody but him(moss)
-21st easiest WR schedule

If I come up with anything else ill let you know... ;-D

haha undefeated that deal was plausible ages ago. Its no good anymore. and this is actually a 4 team league so the teams are stacked. I know I know a 4 team league should be easy but its not. Its kind of like should I start fred taylor or kevan barlow? so its a lot different froom other leagues. but ya I am going to go for someone else. thanks anyways though guys.
