Backup defensive end David Bowens tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee when jumping down from a ladder on Thursday, ESPN.com's Len Pasqaurelli confirmed. Bowens was changing a light bulb and landed awkwardly upon getting off the ladder. Bowens will miss at least the first three months of the 2003 season and will likely not play at all. The Dolphins used Bowens at both an end and a tackle on third-down situations.
The fantasy impact is very minimal, as the Dolphins will still have one of the top five defenses.
