Oct 8 49ers' tight end Eric Johnson is expected to play on Sunday after an MRI exam revealed no significant damage to his injured ribs. The injury has been diagnosed as a bruise, and Niners' head coach Dennis Erickson is leaving it up to Johnson to determine whether he can play on Sunday against the Cardinals. "I'd be surprised if he didn't play, but we'll see how the pain is," Erickson told the Mercury News.
Views: Johnson leads the Niners with 28 receptions for 298 yards and has been a pleasant surprise to his fantasy owners. If Johnson can't play on Sunday, Aaron Walker would replace him in the starting lineup.
