Can Chester be an adequate fill-in?

Postby mad benjamin » Mon Oct 11, 2004 6:07 am

What I've seen from Chester Taylor has made me feel pretty good about picking him up off waivers this week, especially in light of my crappy RB corps. Does anyone think he is a serviceable back to plug in for the 2 weeks he starts? He's been averaging pert-near 6 yards a carry.

I picked Chester up last week to help ease my upcoming loss of Jamal. I think Chester will do alright, maybe a couple of big plays. I don't think he is going to get the short yardage and goal line carries though. Looks more like a quick burst kinda guy, they'll probably want a little more power down near the goal line. We'll see I guess.

He should be OK as a #2 RB or Flex RB, but he probably won't put up #1 RB numbers.

Then again, it doesn't look like Kyle Boller is capable right now of picking up the slack for an absent Jamal, so BAL will have to ride Taylor.

Musa's a bigger back, so it's completely possible that he gets goalline and shortyardage. However, that's absolutely speculation, because nobody has even mentioned any news of that sort yet. I wouldn't expect any info on that until later on this week at LEAST...with the bye week coming up for BAL.

He's a good #2 back or flex option. There's no way that they'll lean on Boller.
