After seeing the reemergence of Koren Robinson, Plaxico and Isaac Bruce, I'm starting to think (dangerous, I know) ....
Is it a sound strategy to target the consensus lesser-rated WR of a great 1-2 combo like the Rams, Seahawks and Steelers have?
It might be a good thought for future drafts. When two good/great WRs are both highly thought of as near equals, then bypass the first in the early rounds of a draft and grab the second. It seems like defenses just have to make a choice for which poison to pick. So whoever has great stats in 2003 might not be the wise pick in 2004.
Any thoughts? I'd be interested in looking at the numbers on this historically. Might be helpful for next year's draft. I'm on vacation on a dial-up right now, so I'll wait to get home to crunch numbers.
