Sluggers shunning Home Run Derby

Baseball's biggest sluggers will skip the All-Star Home Run Derby. Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez have declined to participate in Monday's long-ball festival at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
Participants are to be named on Thursday.

Bonds, asked why he's skipping out, answered, "Because I'm grown, and I don't have to"

just like the slam dunk competition...the home run derby and slam dunk competition is ultimately and bottom line for the fans..and yet they shun it.


So when you hear the players spew out time and time again "I'm just here to honor the fans" yadda yadda yadda and the like, tell em to blow it out their collective asses.

I don't believe em for a second.

Maybe the cork supplier was closed for the week, and their "entertainment" bats will not be available in time.

And exactly why I posted this.
I'd LOVE to change this.
But - to quote the Stones - "... what's a poor boy to do, but sing in a Rock 'N Roll band?"
It's just getting harder and harder and harder to even relate to sports stars with this kind of money and this kind of attitude.
