I drafted Fred Taylor in Round 1 and am still 4-1

What an odd season this has been...

Stuck in the Denver running back quagmire, drafting the formerly fragile-one and Ru-DI with my first two picks, and I've still managed to win 4 out of the 5 of my first games.

Why? Apparently because I drafted Andre Johnson, Antonio Gates and Chris Brown...

cue twilight zone music...

anyone else have a similar story?

I took Taylor in the second round, after taking Manning with the 10th pick of a 12 team redraft. I would normally never do this, but Moss and Daunte were gone. I had to decide between Manning, Taylor, and Jamal Lewis in the first round and get this.... I got all 3 of them in my 12 person league!

I took Taylor on the way back in round 2 and gladly snagged Lewis in the 3rd round. It gets better.... after picking up Chester Taylor, I decided to offer Lewis up for trades and was offered Edge straight up for Taylor!

Now I'm 3-2 and going into week 6 without Manning and Edge. I'll have to start Rattay next week and it shouldn't be too bad!

I'm in a 12 team keeper league, but we only get 1 freeze. Froze Edge from last year and took Taylor first round, 10th pick. On the loop I got TO, Horn, and Brady in like 5 or 6. Since then off FA I picked up Brown, Seatle D, Gates, and Santana Moss (off wavers, owner gave up on him... I've got hope). I'm 5-0 and looking at my next three match ups theres a really good chance of going 9-0 before I lose a game. Fun times.

QB - Tom Brady
WR - Terrell Owens
WR - Joe Horn
WR - Santana Moss
RB - Edge
RB - Christ Brown
TE - Antonio Gates
Bnc - Fred Taylor
Bnc - David Givens
Bnc - Keyshawn Johnson
K - Dawson
Def - Sea

Yep, I drafted Fred in the 1st round and am 4-1. Not only did I draft him first, but SDavis 2nd and THenry 3rd and none of them has done squat and I am STILL 4-1. How did I do it? Well, my 1st 4 weeks, Aaron Brooks played over his head and I was able to trade him and SDavis last week to the guy who had Foster (and Lewis who is about to sit out for a bit) for Culpepper and KJones! My WRs have been pretty good too, as I drafted Jackson, Mason, Chambers, Toomer and picked up Wayne and Burress off waivers. The Falcons D has been a pleasant surprise for me and I caught a couple guys on bad weeks.

If my backs ever get better, I'll definitely have something. For now, I just consider myself to be lucky to be in 1st...

Gates saved me this week. I had Taylor and Dillon, didn't even start Taylor and put in Pittman against a weak NO defense. Oops. I won by one point against the guy with Culpepper and Randy Moss, but he has no RBs. Saved my season, 2-3 in that league now.

I drafted Taylor in rd2 and am 2-3 with this lineup:

10 team league - High performance scoring = 1 pt per reception
1 QB 2RB 2WR 1 RB/WR/TE 1 D 1K

Qb - Hasselback, Leftwich
RB - Alexander, F Taylor, Q Griffen, L Suggs,
WR - Ward, D Jackson, Fitzgerald, Bennett, Rod Gardner
K - Jay Feely
D - Lions

Griffen and Taylor have really hurt my team this year. I just lost this week to the guy who has Chris brown.

My first 3 picks were Harrison, Taylor, Bennett. I was 11th in a 12 team league and I'm off to a 4-1 start. Thanks to Brown, Walker & Gates.
Thanks to Metroid for the sig!

I drafted Taylor with 2.04 in a 10 teamer... I thought he was a steal there, but so far he's just barely doing enough to stay in my flex spot... Hopefully he gets his act together, though... I really think the issue this season has been Byron Leftwich's ineffectiveness in the early games... Teams have not been respecting his passing ability, and that has not only hurt Taylor's value, but it's gotten a couple of teams beat in the waning seconds... I think with his performances against Indy and San Diego, though, teams will be more hesitant to stack the box, which should lead to better numbers out of Taylor...
