damn... bad news for C-Mart

Postby vdragon78 » Tue Oct 12, 2004 11:07 am

Probably not this week, but C-Mart's production will slow down quite a bit...
I watched all the jets games this year -- that O-line was really pushing people around..... tsk tsk.. not good.

From yahoo:

Oct 12 The Jets are down to one healthy offensive lineman. Left guard Pete Kendall suffered what the New York Daily News is calling a fractured big toe last week, and will be sidelined for up to three weeks. Right guard Brandon Moore pulled a hamstring last week, didn't return to the game, and is doubtful to play this week. Center Kevin Mawae is already playing with a broken hand and left tackle Jason Fabini is suffering from back spasms.

It's a lot easier to protect a three step drop than to run block.

I guess that my trade last week is starting to look like a good idea. (Gave C-Mart for Portis). I figure that C-Mart's best games of the season are behind him.

ask any linemen, it's easier to run block than pass block.

I just did and he said you're wrong.

He said with today's 3 step drops, you just have to brush the guy and the ball is already out of the QB's hands. However, he said that NFL run blocking is really tough with all the pulls and complex maneuvers.

i'm not sure who you asked, but this came up a few years ago when i was talking to a friend who was an Olineman at Towson State(now Towson Univ), and he said run blocking is much easier(i was surprised at the time). He said they used to love run blocking because they got to hit the defensive players, instead of backpedaliing trying to stay in front of the rusher.

ps i wouldnt call C-Mart a bust or going downhill yet. So long as he gets the goallline and most of the carries in that offense, hes going to be a top fantasy back.
