Does anybody know anything about the Detoit Defense? I just noticed they are quitly putting up some great points at defense. Last year's record has thme playing some soft teams this year and they are second in sacks with 8 forced fumbles? Does anybody know anthing more about them?

I Use Em Occasionaly

Postby joemomma » Thu Oct 14, 2004 4:48 pm

Statistically they are ranked like 25th or close to that overall in the NFL stats.

Fantasy wise they have put up some good numbers this year.

21, 22, 4, 21 points in my league the last 4 weeks. I have them and use them occasionaly if they are playing a weaker team.

welcome to zee Cafe...

Detroit is playing soft teams... this much is true... and the NFC North isnt exactly a powerhouse. Boss Bailey is a beast, and Bly and Bryant are very capable corners..

Worth a #2 roster spot, for sure.

[Boss Bailey is a beast]

Huh???? Boss bailey has been out all year with a knee injury...give me a break!

Yes they play in a weak division, but GB, MIn and Chi can all put points on the board and thats what matters. The Det defense is nothing special, and to be fair Boss Bailey will be good someday...probably not this year though.

my bad... haven't really been following detroit this year, truth be told. But Bailey is a beast... and I knew about Bly, but isnt he off/coming off injury soon?

Points mean nothing. You rarely get significant points from points allowed. Its 10 for a shutout, and if they score 1 touchdown, you lose 6 points. The important thing is sacks and turnovers, and Detroit averages 4 sacks and 3 TOs a game. Not bad at all. Inflate those numbers a little, because they are playing the packers. They are turnover galore.
