Ok, I am feeling a little pissed and I need a 2nd opinion. For the 2nd week in a row, my opponent has made a shady trade in advance of our game, seemingly for the betterment of his team and not the other's. I really want to believe that he saw me trade for Chad Johnson this week and needed to counter to get better to beat me. I am 5-0 and he is 4-1(loss to me in week2) and we're in the same division. He traded David Carr (his backup QB) for Torry Holt (team is 2-3 in my division). Here are both of their rosters:
My opponent first:
D Culpepper
O Smith
C Taylor
S Alexander
L Suggs
T Jones
M Muhammad
D Mason
J Smith
A Bryant
T Holt
D Branch
E Johnson
D Ravens
J Elam
T Brady
D Carr
S McNair
A Green
C Portis
J Chatman
T Henry
R Wayne
T Glenn
P Price
A Toomer
C Baker
D Broncos
D Brien
D Akers
Why on earth does he need Carr? Brady stunk it up last week but that's one bad week all year. McNair looks to be back on track. Additionally, he picked up Chatman this week who I tried to get for the handcuff but was blocked by waiver priority. Make me feel better about this please...
Well...your opponent has no back up QB. And having Culpepper, he had better have an insurance policy. Trading Holt for Carr last year would have been an immediate "Uhh...wtf??". But Carr is going well, Holt couldn't be colder.
Getting to brass tacks, you really have nothing to complain about.

Only 3 leagues this year. No sense in rooting for everyone in the NFL.

While I agree, something does seem fishy. I am going to play it like a man and wait until they trade back next week. If that happens, I shall unleash hell.
This should make you feel great. If this is a keeper league, you can't blame a team owner for pulling off a trade that he might not be able to make next season. He's selling a an old Holt for a young Carr. The Carr owner has Culpepper. You don't know how everyone feels about every player. If you can't really prove cheating, you should let it go and enjoy the rest of your competitive season
If this doesn't help, have them both explain the trade and then accuse them. My rule is that a player traded is not allowed back to the original team withing 5 weeks from the same owner. Good Luck
You guys are missing it. The opponent this week dropped Carr, picked up Holt. C-Pep's bye is done, so he's gambling that he needs no backup. Huge upgrade at wr. Trade is fishy because the Brady owner's bye is also past and therefore the Carr trade is worthless to him, relatively.

This trade stinks.
What if he thinks Brady will tail off in the cold weather, but that Carr will maintain his en fuego performance? What if he thinks McNair is not what we thought he was, or he has another trade sending away McNair or Brady or both? I think this trade can be justified, and unless there's a tradeback, no complaint.
I also hope that a 2-3 team wouldn't be giving up at this point. That may be a little naive on my part.
I think you have a little too much time on your hands with all this conspiracy theory thinking. I know nothing pisses me off more as an owner when another owner accuses me of collusion w/ another owner. Most owners play to win and make moves accordingly. Maybe he knows sombody else in the league needs a QB and is willing to give up more than a Holt for him. People have differant opinions of players. Sometimes a trade that looks lopsided one way ends up being lopsided the other way. Just play the Game.
Last Year Portis was WAY better then Dunn. This year the opposite, but regardless, it was nto a bad trade, the guy was probably hoping he was getting a "buy cold" deal on Portis.
As for Holt for Carr, once again, last year it would have been crazy, this year not so.
