Last year, you could play in a free league at nfl.com, and in fact could have 3 teams for free. This year, it's 14.95 if you want a team, and evidently another 14.95 (or 19.95 if the "special" rate disappears) for each additional team. So essentially it will cost almost $45.00 for what nfl.com was giving away last year.
While I understand their need (and even moreso their greed), I think it's too big a hike all at once ... 0.00 to $14.95 for one team.
Yahoo is still free this season, but you have to wonder if they will follow in nfl.com's footsteps next year.
What say you? Anyone going to pay $15-$45 this year for what they received free last year?
Will nfl.com make oodles of money? Probably. But my own opinion is that they should have charged $9.95 and given the same 3-league package as last year.
