8 team league
1pt for 20passing yds
6pts for td
.5pts for every completion
1pt for every rushing yd

I am taking 2rb's and 2 wr's with my first four picks and I have the 7th pick in the draft.

I figure by then all the top qb's will be gone so i was thinking about drafting Hasselbeck and Warner. Both seem to be projected to have big seasons and one of them will at least live up to their hype.

So my question is do those to qb's sound good and what round could i get them in?

warner, without a doubt.

are you in a serpentine draft (ie seveth pick of the first round, 2nd in the second round)? if so, then you may want to consider taking a wr like harrison or owens at 7 and then coming back RB early in the second. go RB-RB in the third and fourth. if the fifth and sixth rounds where you have picks close, take a look at what teams have QBs and how many...i will guess that there will be several good ones left. so, in the fifth and sixth look at MAYBE one of the top three TEs (gonzo, heap, shockey) and then your second starter at wr. if the big three TEs are gone, then consider a qb or possibly even a fourth RB

woah, did i read that right ONE point per rushing yard??? that is going to make RBs rediculously high.

in an eight team league, even if a lot of other teams start drafting their backups, you could still get a good QB in the seventh and eighth rounds....maybe grab one in both rounds

at qb, you have

mcnabb
culpepper
manning
gannon
vick

that i think are for sure your top guys. then you have a good second tier...

brooks
garcia
warner
bledsoe
mcnair

thats TEN guys right there. meaning, that if you let every other team draft its starter first, you should still get one of those five.

you then still have

hassleback
maddox
brady
pennington
trent green
collins

and grabbing one of those guys as a backup would work well.

I'm not sold on Warner coming back strong. The man has broken his hand in three different places over the past few years, and to me that is a cause for great concern. Plus, he didn't look good last year when he was supposedly healthy.

At a much better price, say starting around the fifth round, look for these solid starters (in order, although there is little separating these guys in my opinion):

Hasselbeck
Bledsoe
Collins
Maddox
Brady
Pennington
Plummer

A duo or trio (if you have a bonus spot on your roster) should yield a very respectable QB this year.

Try not to sway from taking two RBs with your first and second pick. Don't dig yourself a hole right off the bat.

Hope that helps.

Warner, if you can get him in a later round should be an absolute steal. There won't be any repeat of last year - assuming his hand is healed. The Rams offensive line should improve significantly, and it's possible that they'll be the team of old.

Hasselbeck would be a great backup to Warner. I think some people are slightly overrating his abilities for this upcoming season, though.

But, in an 8 team league I don't see why you couldn't get a McNair, Favre, Brooks - or someone even better - in about the 5th round. Of course, I've never been in a league that small, so what do I know?
The facts have no meaning.
