Return Yardage studs...

Postby Plindsey88 » Mon Oct 18, 2004 11:43 am

Anyone else start Eddie Drummond at WR this week?

Wow, what a performance... He put up 23 points for me in return yardage alone... Outscored Mason and Ward combined in my WR crew...

Went even better than when I started BJ Sams at RB last week....

No Drummond here. But I was glad to see Bethel Johnson back in uniform. He alone outscored Coles and Rod Smith.

In leagues with that scoring, you have to exploit returners. Drummond, Moses, Lewis ... who needs regular WRs? :-)

Mewelde Moore must be really good as well.

If I am not mistaken, he returned kicks as well as putting up big yardage numbers as a RB.

For return yards, you can play matchups: good offense vs bad defense = lots of return yards for starting kick returners. Examples of return yards vs Minn:
Week 3 (B. Berrian - Chi) : 120 yds
Week 5 (J. Moses - Hou): 120 yds
Week 6 (M. Lewis - NO): 140 yds

For week 7, you may want to look at J. Lewis (Jac) vs Indy who will be returning both kicks and punts.

Also, Wes Welker (Mia) looks like a good play vs St Louis

Anybody know anything about the return situation in Cinci?
Cliff Russell was getting ops over Housh this weekend, but I assumed that it was because Housh is starting WR in Warrick's spot.
Housh was dropped in my league (for Russell) and it would seem that Housh is a must own unless there's a good chance he won't get too many more returns. Any insider info?

Another position battle I'd like news about is the Bears'.
Azumah is back and I'd think he'll get chances. But, it may be crowded with McQuarters and Berrian in the mix.
I'm hoping that it would be Az and/or McQ simply because my league uses IDP's and DB's with return yards are golden beyond reason.

hey guys thanks for the info...i just suggested this idea to a friend in yahoo....we both researched it and it could be helpful at times...

So how do you guys figure it out... is it just like all other positions...you look for who gives up the most yardage and pick up the guy they are playing against or do you solely focus....

Focus on:
Drummond
Moses
Mlewis
sams

and stick to your guns or do like with defenses and play the matchups?
