To play a defense against your studs.....

What are the general thoughts of playing a defense against a team that one of your players is on?

I have Portis and took a gamble with picking Chicago as a D this week, since the Redskins turn the ball over and if Portis did, I wouldn't lose points.

Usually you wouldn't do this, but if the overall matchup is good, is this worth taking a chance? Any thoughts?

I play the defense with the best matchup in my mind... I don't let the other stuff affect my decision... Like it or not, if one of my studs is going to turn the ball over, he's going to turn the ball over... I'd just assume have the defense that recovers it... Whether I have the defense or not is not going to impact the outcome of the game... I play best best matchup no matter what...

That sounds good - that's basically the premise I've been following this year.
