At 5-1, and leading my league & in points, I am starting to think towards our playoffs (last 2 weeks of season).
I'm wondering what would be some sharp pickups, soon, that may benefit me in December.
Someone dropped D. Branch, clears waivers tomorrow.
I was pissed to see someone beat me to McCardell yest., and also someone picked up J. Galloway last week.
I'm thinking of nabbing Steve Smith soon...
Can anyone think of anyone else out there???
Here's my roster, (we play 4 WRs, 2 QBs, 2 RB, 1 WR/RB...)
Favre
Plummer
Harrington
Tomlinson
D. Davis
Pittman
M.Bennett
Davenport
Ward
Andre Johnson
Mason
Hilliard
D. Gabriel
TJ Housh(TB)
R. Lee (TB)
D. Graham
J. Brown (Sea)
D--CHI
D--STL
D--P.Buchanon
D--M. Peterson (Jac)
If you could package D. Davis and one of your WRs or QBs to possibly get Edge or C. Brown, both have great playoff schedules. You are looking real solid though. Harrington has a sneaky nice playoff schedule. Branch may be a nice grab as well.
I like simple pleasures, like butter in my ass, lollipops in my mouth. That's just me.

As in a discussion of who can be looming now to help 2 months from now, and strategies to help plan for my first poss. postseason.
Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just bitter because you're 5-1 and I'm not. I'll give it some thought and see if I can't come up with something moderately intelligent to say.

Our trade deadline, is somewhere around 11/19 or so. That's good advice, however, personally I'm not sure CBrown is an upgrade over Davis (both are rather fragile---I'm hoping Davis' bye week helps him for the 2nd half).
But yes, I was thinking I could package Harrington and Pittman, and a mediocre WR for another stud reciever possibly??

My fear is not having a 3rd QB as a safety net.
There are very few people I believe who rely on their third QB as a saftey net. First off, you normally play your best QB or play the matchups with your 2 QB's if they are about equal. Favre throws atleast one TD every game. He did so last year and hes doing it again this year. Plummer is also doing fairly well. In my scoring system [ 25 yds = 1 and all TDs = 6 with ints and fumbles -2 ] Favre and Plummer both rest at #6 adn #7 overall. I know there is a chance that both of them could falter, or that Plummer could get hurt, but thats a small risk IMO. Harrington however isnt doing so hot. See if you could package him. Maybe this weekend against the NYG he could post a big game and up his temporary value.

I agree with everything you said. When I say safety net(got it right this time ), I mean only injury related.
In other words, if I'm in playoffs and one of my QBs is out (we start 2 QBs), then I'm up creek w/o paddle.
I guess, I could then hit the waiver wire and hope someone would be available....but that would be my concern in trading Joey.
Does anyone have a list of good playoff starts over all or have any thoughts on them?
I'm in an extremely similar situation and would love to hear what people think about this.
I've been trying to figure out what my best plays are for the playoffs. Branch clears waivers in my league shortly, but I think its very possible that hes done for the season. I picked up McCardell yesterday because I fortunately have an open spot at the moment and picked up Santana Moss for the same reason.
QB - Tom Brady
WR - Terrell Owens
WR - Joe Horn
WR - Santana Moss
RB - Edge
RB - Chris Brown
TE - Antonio Gates
Bnc - Keyshawn Johnson
Bnc - Fred Taylor
Bnc - Keenan McCardell
K - Dawson
Def - Sea
